Another Wonderful Children's Book from Uncle Amon - Al E. Gator, the Alligator Who Wouldn't Swim!

HERE'S ANOTHER WONDERFUL CHILDREN'S BOOK FROM UNCLE AMON. HURRY AND GRAB THIS ONE WHILE IT'S FREE ON AMAZON - NOW THRU 8/10/2017

Al E. Gator is an alligator who lives in a Louisiana bayou swamp with his family. Al is sweet and kind and everyone loves him. Al loves everything about his friends, his family and his swamp – everything but swimming underwater. Since swimming underwater is an important skill for an alligator to have, Al’s fear of underwater swimming poses a real problem for him. Al’s parents patiently try all sorts of things to help him get over his fear, but nothing seems to work. Will Al finally get over his fear? Readers will have read and find out.

As always, I love Uncle Amon’s books. I’ve read many of these books to youngsters and they never fail to impress and entertain them. Al E. Gator is no exception.

The content is age-appropriate and written with a wonderful mix of easy and challenging words – great for building those vocabulary skills! There are several short stories included here, along with the usual puzzles, jokes and other entertaining activities for kids to enjoy. A wonderful read and definitely worth the download!

The Lost Treasure of Loma Grande by Richard Clark is an Action-Packed Book for Kids!

BOOK REVIEW:

Rudy McCafferty is a fifth-grader who is just trying to get through life and school with as few problems as possible. He tries to stay out of the way of a few local bullies and his mother’s obnoxious boyfriend. To do this, Rudy spends his free time digging in the caves below the new Loma Grande mall. His dream is to become an archaeologist one day like his idol C.J. Drake. Little does Rudy know he’ll soon get the chance to meet the famous Drake AND get a shot at finding an important piece of archaeological treasure.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Lost Treasure of Loma Grande. There is so much for middle graders (and adults) to like. The author has captured the voice of a ten-year-old boy extremely well. It’s not a long book, but there’s plenty of action, adventure and suspense to keep kids reading along. Rudy McCafferty’s character is genuinely likable and relatable. I highly recommend this book!

Charlie Bingham Gets Clocked by Maggie M. Larche is a Fun and Silly Read for Kids

Charlie Bingham Gets Clocked is a fun and silly book for middle-graders. It's currently FREE on Amazon!

Charlie Bingham Gets Clocked is a middle-grade chapter book that centers around one school day adventure. Charlie has a crush on his teacher, Miss Walker. When Miss Walker’s antique clock goes missing, Charlie and his friends have to find it before one of them ends up in detention. What follows is a series of slapstick antics, mishaps and wacky kid-friendly escapades.

This is a silly story that will appeal to both boys and girls between aged 8 and 10. It has plenty of action and I was happy to see that it models some excellent problem-solving skills for this age group. The vocabulary is ideal for this group and the book is fairly short (just eight chapters), so it’s a book that can be enjoyed by youngsters quickly and easily. Recommended!
