Natural Bug Repellent

Well it's spring and the weather has already been warm for a few weeks down here in Texas. While many of my friends and family up North are still getting hit with the white stuff, we're enjoying balmy temperatures.

Unfortunately, the early warm temps are not without problems...those pesky bugs come to mind. If you're looking for an alternative to expensive, smelly, store-bought chemicals here's an all-natural recipe for homemade bug repellent.

This recipe smells so good and works so well you may want to make extra to put in pretty bottles, like the ones below, to give away as gifts.

Ingredients:

1 16 oz spray bottle
Approximately 15 drops lavender oil
3-4 Tbsp of vanilla extract
1/4 Cup lemon juice.

Instructions:

Pour all of the ingredients into the spray bottle. Fill the bottle the rest of the way with water.
Shake to combine thoroughly. Shake each time before applying.
