Stretch marks, scientifically known as strie gravidarum, can be defined as thin elongated lines of variable thickness that are red, purple and pink in color, which normally occur on the skin surface of pregnant women. They are normal occurrences for the pregnant women. Research has shown that approximately 50 percent of the pregnant women get them.

These marks appear mostly on a person's abdomen region. However, some people may get them in other parts of the body such as underarms, buttocks, thighs, hips, breasts, etc. In this article we are going to discuss on the various tips on how to prevent pregnancy stretch marks.

This involves using a good quality skin moisturizer on your belly and also on the other body parts during the early pregnancy stages. Cocoa butter is among the well-known moisturizers for stretch marks and thus many pregnant women can effectively benefit from this product.
